PAST DEVELOPMENTS

Image of Tenterfield development

Tenterfield, Haddington, East Lothian

Beneath its pretty market town exterior, the Royal Burgh of Haddington in East Lothian is one of Scotland’s most sought after housing hotspots. At Tenterfield we created seven bespoke and beautiful homes in a tree-lined setting that were totally sympathetic and sensitive to the town’s heritage, dating back to the 12th Century.

Externally the architecture was perfectly in keeping with the vernacular style, including baronial turrets, white harling and the use of traditional materials like lead and slate. Inside the traditional scale was ensured with minimum ceiling heights of 2.7 metres. The substantial, five-bedroom, Victorian Italinate-style homes, came in two distinct layouts, each spread across three floors, and with private gardens and garages.

If the outside offered a breathtaking modern interpretation of classic Scottish values, it was the interiors that took design and specification to a new level. Top of the range features included solid birch flooring, Jacuzzi baths and giant American fridge-freezers. In typical Treetops fashion our attention to detail also included Phillppe Starck taps, digital sensor dishwashers, stainless steel sockets and handcrafted maple staircases.

Haddington is the gateway to the rest of East Lothian and our Tenterfield development also offered easy road access to Edinburgh. It is little wonder the homes are so sought after on those rare occasions when they actually come on the market.
